For the posher models the Low range gear box might be next for the chop. ;)

Doesn't bother me.  I won't ever buy another Range Rover new anyway.  One of the biggest reasons I like mine is because of how long it will last me and I'm very annoyed that LR decided to scrap stocks of spare panels because they can't stand to see me running an old car anymore.

If they can't guarantee I can keep driving it for a couple of decades then it's just another over-priced over-weight foreign SUV.

Might as well buy that Ford thingy, it looks better, costs less and can probably tow as much (as little).

if this new direction enables the company to remain viable as a mass producer then it has to be encouraged, whether it fits nicely into our personal view of lr ownership or not. if these measures keep the chelsea tractor brigade buying the high value new products then good, it is what is needed to keep the utility sector of the company going.

personally i think they went wrong when they started putting computers into disco 1.5's and they have gotten ever further away from a proper cars ever since.
