You need to take the one off the old stub and put it onto the new one - it's a tight interference fit.
I wrapped mine in a rag and used a big pair of plumbers grips to get it moving then prized it off with a couple of screwdrivers.
HTH :D

Cheers Steve :) I made a special tool with a angel grinder and a screwdriver then with the Help of Frankieboy and Rick we soon got it off and the whole lot is back together and road tested mmmm soo smooth lol

From what I remember of stub axles there is an oil seal inside that runs on the outside of the cv shaft (ABS style axles) and it goes in before a bronze bush-bearing that runs on the outside of the CV. This was also a thrust bearing on mine.
On non-ABS axles there is no oil seal and the bearing is different, I think there are 2 parts.
If you DO have ABS axles, the type with the outer driveshaft as part of the CV then you need to check the endfloat of the CV shaft once the drive member is fitted. If there is too much endfloat the bearing will wear quite quickly.

No ABS on my truck RRB
the stub just has the oil seal on the inside then the bearing sits in on top of that and then the brass collar which im thinking is the bush according to the diagram in the book of lies
:) shame it took paddocks a week to send the parts though

Right, I know there are several different designs in use, the Defender 200 is different again, some even have rolling bearings in them (is that what you have got?) and they have a bronze thrust bearing on the end of the stub.
If you fit a new bearing it's also worth checking the running clearance to the CV or halfshaft though I think they come machined to the right size.
