I have the chance to get some new tyres for my 90 Td5.
Its at the garage now following a 3rd party insurance claim. I have the option to pay the extra and go for some bigger tyres.
I was running 265/75/16 MTs but was thinking of going for 285/75/16s.
I have read lots of stuff on the internet saying I will need to fit a 2 inch lift for this size, however because the tyres will be fitted at the garage before I get chance to fit the 2" lift, I need to know if they will go onto a standard 90 and drive ok on the road for the short trip home?
I am looking at the new BF goodrich MTs (think they call them the KM2)or the Kumho MTs.
Thanks,
Matt

I've just had a look at a tyre size comparison chart, the 265's have a diameter of 803mm and the 285's are 833mm, I would of thought a radius increase of only 15mm would be fine to drive, see what the clearance is once they are fitted.
