Hi All
Finally got me a 110.
all i know about it is its a 200Tdi on a J plate 3 door. Silver and in fairly good nick.
I'm off to Southampton on Friday to pick it up.
No doubt i will be posting a few questions on here shortly.
So now we have a Disco a Rangie classic a Freelander and now a 110.

Well, made it there and back without a problem.
We put the 110 on a trailer and towed it back to Cardiff with the Freelander. It needs a few small things doing to it but nothing major.
Here are a few pix

H14 superwinch and what look like Mill Services Tree sliders...... just like mine

Right here we go.
Had a bit of a poke about today.
The winch is not mechanically connected up, I have the pto gearbox bit and two long drive shafts, I am assuming one is a spare.
I'll have a go at bolting all the bits together later in the week (maybe if time allows)
My question is how does the winch work. I cant see any forward /reverse levers knocking about.
As I am not a lazy [!Expletive Deleted!] i'll have a look on the superwinch site(if there is one) and see if they have instructions.
2nd question.
The seats are a bit worn so what would be the best replacement or should I just get these recovered.
Other than that I am well chuffed with it, just got to find a suitable name for the big fella.

The winch is operated from the driver seat. With the transfer box in neutral the PTO is engaged with a lever next to handbrake, using the clutch and throttle with gears 1 to 5 on the main box to operate winch (usually 2nd gear for winch work - higher to just re-spool the rope but not too much revs). Reverse gear to spool out load under control. There should be a method on the winch itself to put it into freespool or engage. It will not go into freespool under load. From the photo's it doesn't seem to have the same freespool lever as mine, but has a knob on the side?
Superwinch doesn't have the instructions online but I have previously done the leg work and had their helpful staff email be a copy of the manual. I have the fitting and operating instructions on my webby :
http://www.stonefisk.com/doc-arc/def_man/9326_Iss_181197_Obsolete.pdf
Also this text on how to strip one down:
http://www.stonefisk.com/doc-arc/Howto_STRIP_%20H14_SUPERWINCH.TXT
Easy to strip down the freespool end if it needs attention (gets bunged up with grime and it a pif to engage or freespool).

Thanks for the info Saffy.
The link to the instructions doesnt work though. Your explanation above clears a lot of things up though. At least I know how it should work.
The gearbox that came with it has a short handle attached to it, but it looks like it has never been installed as there is no lever in the cab.

right click and save ? it's an adobe acrobat document so you need the reader installed. It's the superwinch H14 installation and user guide for the Landrover Defender.
