Title: side exit exhaust (rear quarter)
Post by: john656 on July 06, 2010, 22:33:35
Anyone have a pic of the under side? Want to have it comming out of the lower rear quarter behind the NSR tyre. Have an idea of how to but just want to see how others have done it (300tdi).

Ok Dumb question maybe BUT apart from looking mint what advantages does a side exit exhaust give you??  And does it have any impact on the old MOT?

Online MOT testing guide (our testing bible)..... Can always remove rear pipe and put a silencer on there to reduce to noise. Ive also done a few other bits to my exhaust and it pick/spools up easier and seems to have more torque low down.
As for the function of a side exit, just looks the muts nuts

It avoids knackering the rear exhaust on a failed steep hill climb, coming backdown they can dig in - it happened to my mate.

But does look good

Duh  never thought of that, with mine being a disco 2 it drags its arse down every hill, me thinks a side exit exhaust maybe on the cards

It's nice to see an old post of mine still coming in useful - first time I've been on here for ages and rather pleased now!
