hi all
after almost running out of fuel for only the second time (only spluttering now and then) made it to the garage put

It sounds like you've picked some [!Expletive Deleted!] up in 1 of the injectors after it ran out. Other than taking them out and cleaning um is the only thing i can say to try. :-k Use to just blip the throttle to red line on the petrols to clean the system out not sure if it would work on the diesel.
As for the lift pump your is the same as mine annoying but goes the job.

hi
managed to pospone the mot till thursday (runs out on friday tuesday was the only free space they had) started to get ready to do the sedimenter, cleaned all around it then noticed that the nut on top was all chewed up and rounded off(someone must have used mole grips on it)so 30mins later it still would not undo, so i bit the bullet and took it to the garage doing the mot and i have told them to remove it completely and bin it,blow the fuel lines out and then mot it as its needed for work
and i hope that cures it
and thank you to all that replied

hi
just to let you know the car passed its mot but has 4 advisory notes
1. slight leak on steering box.
2. engine oil leak/
3. fuel pipe/pipes corroded.
4. this vehicle has corrosion
but the vehicle has ran for 5 ish miles and started playing up it cut out 3 times in 2 miles so i will be getting a lift pump tomorrow and hope that sorts it just need to read up on fitting it

My guess is you have air in the fuel lines. If the fuel lines are corroded you might have a tiny hole in it.
That would be enough to make it run badly.

hi temp
will check pipes in the morning , just out of interest is it possible to change the metal pipes for plastic one or at least some of them,if so anyone got a rough idea of what pipe type and cost ?

Hi mate.
Not sure on the plastic might be a [!Expletive Deleted!] to find and its not as hard wearing as the copper pipe we use.
If it was me i'd rip the lot out and start a fresh using ur old stuff as a template.
Hope this is of some help.

4. this vehicle has corrosion
That isn't terribly helpful! Mine has some but it isn't structural so I'm not especially worried.
