:D Well, the good news is; today I had a nice trundle to Wales where I bought four Trac-Edges in really good nick!!! Those rims are nice too; I put one on straight away, since I was running on Paul's Disco spare, and it looks NICE!!!! so I may change all four  (sorry Porny! :? )
The incredible thing about the trip is that I realised (after 20 months of owning her!) that despite my speedo being in K's; my odo and trip are actually in miles (I'm dysnumerical, so I just haven't worried about it!!) I'd used AA routefinder, which said it was approximately 250 miles door to door, and as I drove I realised it couldn't possibly be K's it was counting!
OK get this: It took about 3 hours each way, the roads were clear and I cruised at about 65-70 (I thought) all the way, I was deliberately taking it steady because it was her first run after changing the thermostat, flushing the rad etc after a chronic overheating spell. Anyway, I ran the tank full to fumes and I got 453.8 miles from 42.29 litres of fuel
Someone who can do maths (RedLine) tells me that's around 45 MPG! Another person who can do maths told me that to do that distance in that time, I'd have to average about 80 MPH!!! Can this be possible?? This is a 200Tdi we're talking about, do i own a miracle Landy??
 :(biglaugh): :(biglaugh): :(shades): :(biglaugh): :(biglaugh): :(contented):

Sounds like you've got a good one there!!
I get around 38mpg from a 300tdi which i thought was good

um... yes.. I reckon something is amiss.
250 miles in 3 hours is an *average* speed of over 80 mph...
250 km in 3 hours is an average of just over 50mph.. which is more believable, but still pretty good on UK roads.
Again, at the figures you mention, you are looking at around 48 mpg... in KMs it works out to 30 mpg. More what you'd be expecting.
I reckon your odometer is in Kms too.
