Borrowed my parents sleeper wagon which is a 2.5 diesel Mazda Bongo Friendee, it's not kitted out as a camper wagon just a sleeper but suited us fine. Took it for 5 days up through LakeDistrict and into Galloway forest for a wee vacation of rough camping and a spot of light hiking. Drove about 1000 miles in that period.

Drove back to Wales to pick up the Defender yesterday and first thing I notice on the trip back to Wiltshire is the noise from engine, exhaust and tyres and creaks and squeeks, much lower brake performance (need to look at that!), the discomfort, the slack gears (Bongo is an automatic), crappy windscreen wipers etc etc

and horror of horrors... mazda bongo owners (and ford freda ..same vehicle rebadged) wave at each other just like landrovers
Just read that the models without a raising roof are called Bongolows LMAO

No, I thought not ;)
Give it a day or two and you'll wonder why you ever drove anything else.

I've got the choice of three vehicles at the moment, a mint W reg Golf Tdi or V reg Jeep Cherokee 4.0 and of course an H reg 200 Tdi Defender 90.
I will only drive the 90 and will even move the other two out of the way to get at it
