You'll love the increased over shoulder visibility especially when pulling out of awkward junctions.

Cheers for comments guys
Already appreciating the over shoulder view - so much better visability.

Yoshi - this was the first time I have done something like this
all I can say is measure twice and cut once and be sure to use plenty of sealant before you fit the window to the panel
if you get worried pop round and i'll show you how its done! (how not to do it!!!)

Barmiebrummie - rest of the painting (green) will be done when there is either some decent weather or I can get into a big enough dry space to do it!

So you aren't going for the authentic military look then? The military never bothered whether it was raining or not when they painted something  And it looks like you've washed the mud off and not just painted over it. I think the army thought mud made a good primer

LOL cheers for the offer, but a 400 mile round trip would be expensive! lol

When you say "plenty of sealant before you fit the window to the panel" do you mean on the window itself where it will meet the panel, or the panel itself?

Also, did you drill the holes before, you fitted it!

Right Yoshi - first of all i figured out where the windows were going, put window against panel with the outside against the panel and then drew round it with a pencil, measured the distance between the inside and outside of window edge and measured that against the original markings. then out with the jigsaw!
Once cut put the window in and jiggle till it fits then whilst its in place i drilled the holes. took window out and put loads of sealant on the edges of window then slap it back in and put the rivets in  job done pretty much !

Hope that helps!

when I took the frames out of the panels on my 110csw you should have seen how badly landrover drilled the holes lol few of them missed and broke into the cutout on one side. Trouble is I had to reuse same holes to fit my blanking panels which use the same frames as the glazed frames.
