Hello,
I think its called Rhino board and I think its expensive, I need to do the same job. Cant remember any sites/costs etc.
-
round here its resin coated ply board at the local timber supplier is
-
There s all sorts , Marine Ply , being a popular one.

I think Jas is onto the right thing at a sesible price. Im inclined to do that job soon based on that....

The coated ply is often called Phenol ply - yes it's expensive but it's very hard weraing and not as slippy as normal ply (whether marine or not).
Chequerplate is OK as long as theres plenty of support underneath - personally I hate it as a trailer bed as it flexes and bends dead easy.
We have a trailer at work with some sort of extruded ali tounge and groove boards and it's great - light weight and strong.

Phenolic ply is very strong but does still end up slippery if wet... and particularly lethal if wet AND oily...
Marine ply is strong - a cheap and somewhat rudimentary fix is to paint it with Sandtex or other available masonery paint... you can even do it with ordinary paint and a good sprinkling of coarse sand between coats.

Is Rhino board the stuff they use on the back decks of narrow boats as I keep seeing those floors and wonder what the wood is as i am tempted to look into it for my trailer flor too but wont be carrying a car. wouldnt quiet fit a quad bike in mine. grrr
