hi guys my 200tdi disco seems to be sluggish.
since being a memeber on here i have seen a few people with the usual problems and have done the following to try to souch whats wrong.
the disco is lifted with springs and a body lift and has a lot of extra parts like roof rack light bar winch and 265 tyres. so i dont expect it to be like a sports car.
but seems that when i reach hills its loosing power and i have to change down to 4th to make it up the hill,.
also seems to run a bit hot to, its fitted with a kenlow style suction fan which dont seem to make a difference if its on or off.
this is a list of what i have done so far.
replace fuel filter / clean sediment tank.
remove and flush intercooler.
replaced lift pump with new one.
when i start up and on driving it seems to smoke esp on gear changes,
the diesel pump had been tweeked but i have put this back to stock position.
i did wonder if it could be a turbo problem or if the injectors need changing. i do get a slight smell of what smells like gas, and did read somewhere that this could be caused by faulty injectors. as the fuel econemy isnt great to.
so before i go spending more money on parts that dont need changing can anyone point me in the right direction as its becoming a pain now and getting to the pount where i dont enjoy driving it.

any turbo pull at all? check if turbo waste gate lever seized? Is the plumbing from actuator to the injection pump intact? check all the turbo /intercooler hoses for leaks/stretching.
-
turbo seems ok, i have checked all pipes and they seem ok, i removed the top intercooler pipe and ran the engine then throttled it up and im getting plenty of air from the turbo,
one thing i have just done this afternon was to remove the injectors and i have given them a clean in thinners and just ran it around the block and seems to have made a big improvement,
so now looking at replacing the injectors or injector tips,
now next question is would you replace the whole injector unit or just the tops,
whole unit is

no experience of servicing injectors here yet, maybe investigate getting them tested and overhauled where needed.

If cleaning the injectors helped, source a bottle of cataclean, normally available at wilkos for around 15 quid. It has always done wonders for me!!!!

I picked up brand new Bosch injectors for

well it seems that it didnt nake that much of a difference, so not sure what the problem is.
i will strip them again and try using some cataclean, i have read that using 2 litres of ATF in your tank once a year helps keep the fuel system clean and or clean contaminated parts, not sure if this is a good idear or not.
i also checked the turbo waistgate erm thingy and seems stiff to move by hand but with a pair of grips moves ok,
i have also orderd a new cyclone filter just incase mines in need of changing. only

Stick 1:200 synthetic 2-stroke in your deisel to help clean the combustion chamber and lubricate the pump.

ive heard a couple of people mention that, i will re strip my injectors at the weekend and will take them apart and clean them properly then see how it goes
