Well after spending months on the disco to get it ready for its mot, finally got it to the test station.
Only to be told that it was great in every way, except that it had failed because the rear anti roll bar was missing.
So there goes a few more beer tokens :'(

Condolences mate, at least its only 1 thing. I'm usually met with gales of derisory laughter & half a rainforests worth of papers listing the faults!!!!

As far as I'm aware from a mate in the trade the anti roll bar is not part of the test? If its not there during the test how do they know if it ever had one? Some 90/110 chassis have mountings for them but dont always have them fitted.

I've checked with a mate who trains MOT testers, if it's not there they can't test it. There is no failure code for anti roll bar removed, because it's not a fail.
-
Agree, i've removed mine in the past and it's NOT a fail.
-
got a very picky mot tester should never fail on no roll bar
-
now this is a grey area : if there is any part of the roll bar there say the ball joint it can fail but if its just the mounts on the chassis and axel your ok as they were type aproved without them
