Title: stupid boy
Post by: lambert on August 16, 2011, 21:11:27
Did a silly thing at the weekend; I bought a ratchet spaner from b&q for 8 and a half quid. Went to use it today and after 4 bolts the ratchet started to slip! As it was a 13mm we're not talking mega torque for it to fail. Anyway got my brass back and now have a halfords advance one with a flex head, will wait to see how it lasts as I have the rest of the job tomorrow.

Pay cheap pay twice!

Got one of the big Halfords professional range socket sets with spanners and rachet spanners a few years ago and it came with a big 7 drawer ball bearing toolbox similar to them snap-on types...

have had the ratchet halfords pro range, some of them doubles for some time. No issues with them above the 13 mm even on tough jobs but below sizes for example the 10mm and 8mm do not use them on seized bolts etc as the ratchet does not take much to wreck and they get pricey to replace as singles.
I have only one flex head as a recent purchase, not made mind up yet as for general use but it has made one job a lot easier at least so far.
