Title: digging holes

Hi blokes.

I'm feeling the need for new rubber. My at michelin xpc are great I love them. I also like my xcl mud tyres when in soft ish mud on my own. However they are nasty on hard wet grass and when I have any of the trailers on in any sort of soft ground there is much digging of holes and making of mess but not as much forward as one might want. I don't want to go wider than 235 at most tho 205 would be nice. Don't really care if they are part worn or remoulded so long as they work .

So what is out there that will tow a trailer out of a wet hole and down the road without being all melodramatic in the process?.

I liked my Macho for that (greenway remoulds) and I think they are the same tread as Amazons?  I think they were all a copy of a tyre called Geolander (Yokahama?).

Otherwise I'm using BFG MT, they are ok as an all-rounder, though a bit soft in the sidewall because of the height.  My BFG AT are 235/70s and a nice towcar tyre, stiff sidewalls and good grip most of the time.

Hi again. What are these kaiman pattern tyres like once they have pulled you out of a wet hole back onto black top?

I use 255-65-16 XPC most of the year, and in winter I put on BFG MT 245-75-16,they both perform very well when towing a 16' triaxle ifor trailer on and off road,Im getting rid of the BFG's for the newer  BFG MT KM2s.

I can't fault my xpc's save for in soft mud they don't self clean that well and slide about on the top, hence getting the mt pattern xcl's but whilst they  do bite they tend to try and dig at the same time, and as we all know once you break the surface you are well on your way to being stuck. If I could get dumper tyres with a high enough speed rating for the 90 on road I would but I can't. Nearest I get are the recip trial 3d but they only come on one size that I don't want.

Been wearing Khumo KL71's in 235/85 r16.

Very well mannered on road and dependaple in the mud.

They've worn pretty well too.

The Greenway macho, Insa turbo Sahara and Malatesta Kaiman Pattern is a very nice pattern for acceptable road manners but can still do the business off road.

Light it up and forwards you go ;) Still acceptable at slower speeds to of course.
