Title: Simex Tyres
Post by: Nige on May 18, 2005, 18:51:14
Anyone use them? Fancy a set as mine are dying rapidly. Maybe Simex Mud Trekkers...Any good on the road or do they wear out too fast? Any advice would be useful.

Aye, I have a set of extreme trekkers.  Nightmare on the road, noisy like you wouldn't believe, handling interesting.
Off road they are brilliant in the mud but not too great on rocks - too much of an open tread.
Wear - expect less than 10,000 miles
Personally, when mine wear out I think I'll replace them with a set of 255x85x16 BFG MT's.  I just don't think we have the terrain that suits them.  Rainforest yes - but not here.

Ouch! Truck weighs close on 3 tonnes so the wear will be horrendous. Change of mind I think...
Thanks for that, very useful

I'd agree with Dom,

Supreme in most types of mud, but not the optimum choice for a vehicle that spends a lot of time on the road.

BFG MTs, Goodyear MT/R or Grabber MTs will be much better IMHO

OK guys...you.ve convinced me. Shame as I liked the look of the Simex but with 6 tyres plus spares and only 10000 miles OUCH

Thanks a lot
