Title: Quotes in posts
Post by: luffy on May 23, 2005, 08:51:53
OK, I'm showing my ignorance with this question as I should know how to do this.

When replying to a post, how do I get "so-and-so" said at the top of the message rather than "quote".  It doesn't seem to work if I use the
Quote
[/qoute] method.

I personally find it a lot easier to follow the conversation if the person replying puts the name of the user they're replying to in their post and I would like to be able to do the same  :)

Put the user name in the
Quote
- i.e.
Quote from: "luffy"
, or just click the "quote" button at the top right of the message :)

You're forgetting the = in the initial
Quote from:

Also you need to put 'Speech Marks' in there, ie; [quote="luffy"

I didn't know for ages until I asked the same question (I'm a genuine 'Techno-Luddite')

For the full list of what you can do then have a look at the BBCode (http://forums.mud-club.com/faq.php?mode=bbcode) in the Options part of the "Post a Reply" window (below & left of the main typing window.
