i have come to the conclusion that i am gonna have to get this landy sorted before i can sell it.it's a v6 essex powered (series 2) i think and the cluch plate has siezed (thru water on it) ...now then is it easier to take the engine out or gearbox......i haven't got a clue :(

gearbox
much much easier. you have to take out all the floor, transmission tunnel and seatbox, but i still think its easier than getting the engine out.

engine out just bell housein bolts engine mounts n bits for the g-box u gota stripout the seat box as well

well, you gotta take the transmission tunnel apart anyway to get at the bellhousing bolts, then its just the seatbox which is about 20 bolts that are easy enough to get at, whereas the engine needs all the fuel lines, water pipes, exhaust, electrics and front panel to be removed.

True if you have already taken them out, although on my l/w I fitted the tunnel over the floor plates, more often with engine out that g/box.
