That's the supercharged Aussie.
I think it's running (from memory) about a 5.0litre.
In that pic, it's got the front prop-shaft removed.
It was in 'LRW'(?) a few years ago

Thats one hell of an SD1 in the pics :D

I had one up to about 10 years ago. The engine was modified/improved to burn all the fuel thrown into it etc, etc.
It used to pull 120 mph in 3rd gear , 160 mph was the most I had out of it(ran out of straight road - not many of them around here).
0 - 60 in 4 seconds, 0 - 100 in 6 seconds.
It had a flat front and a rear spoiler.
Good old days.

Beat me to it :D
Sounds a bit like that RPi (http://www.v8engines.com/) SD1 that was at Billing a few years ago, after Clarkson had it in one of his videos (http://www.v8engines.com/projects-033-clarkson.htm) (against V B-H in a Nova)
-
i liked the nova more when they went head to head, got a mate who's called stig from up the road with a red sr nova with the redtop twin cam init & if no 1 told you it was a 2 litre u wouldnt no,its totally standard from the outside, just vauxhall wheels n a small exhaust

Yep i had one it was a Vitesse 3.5 V8 manual, awesome burn outs and your right would do over 100 in 3rd  never did get it flat out, a bit too big and wobbly to handle round bends and no road long enough....
OH they were the days... petrol 32 pence for a litre of 4 star :D
remember 4 star+ with high octane addatives.. great stuff. They wouldnt allow it now, or would they
These days ide love to have the Lotus Carlton, now that is a beast. 8)

Got any pics
Sadly not
It started off as an X reg SE 3.5 V8.
A bloke down the road had it and spent and unknown amount of money on 'improvements'.
It had a £2000+ German suspension system , large chrome effect alloy wheels, the flat front, built in twin headlamps, rear spoiler, smoked polarised glass all around and the biggest meanest 5.0L Twin Turbo under the hood.
It was awsome.
He also ran an older SD1 for racing.
To cut a long story short he ran out of money and sold the 5.0L engine to someone from Scotland. I happened to be in the right place at the right time and offered him a stupid low price for the rest of it, and could he throw in the engine from the racer.
I was basically told to remove myself from the vicinity
He 'phoned me towards the end of the week and accepted the offer
The 'racing' engine had been balanced, ported, bigger inlet and outlet manifolds, custom exhaust, the carbs had been balanced and it was running with K&N filters on each side.
What a sound. You would have waggon drivers hanging out of the window wanting to know what was roaring up behind them, car drivers in front would panic and pull over and let you pass.
Some t***** in a transit van drove into the side of it in a carpark (my motor was the only one there) and bent it. On the plus side the insurance payment was for more than I spent on it

Smokin'!!!!!!
Its probably Clarkson tryin to hide from a Challenger tank.
