Just spent my day off fitting pro comp kit to my Disco, I know it's been asked many times before, but what is the best size to fill the arches. I was thinking on the line of 265's on the standard freestyles.

or should I blow the budget and go for 33 or 35's with Devon arches :D
Should say, it's a 96 3 door.
Before anyone says, I realise I haven't put the boots on the shocks, this is my preferance. I find if the boots split they fill with mud so I would rather not fit them.

what do you use the disco for? 35's give you better clearance but really mess us your gearing. 4.11 ring and pinion put it back to standard with 32 inch tyres. So if you go for 35's you really need to either change you transfer case to a 90 one or ring and pinions. Neither is cheap or quick. I havent tried it but i'd guess with 35's on stock gearing it would be gutless. The arches are a good idea anyway..give a nice look and much more clearance for bigger tyres particularily if it gets some hammer offroad.

ive just fitted the same kit 8)
after much deliberating on tyres ive gone for
31/10.5/15 goodyear mtr on 15 x 7 modulars
that way i keep the stock gearing, and dont need an arch kit, though the rears may need a little trim
and that has freed up money for:
safari snorkel
rock sliders
stainless sports exhaust
and it'll still look the dogs
though mines mainly used for green lanes and some play sites, nothing too extreme, its the family car after all
