Hi All
From today, until sometime next week, I'm going to be at my uncle's farm silaging (and therefore pooterless).
If for any wild or wacky reason you want to contact me, my mobile number is in my profile. :D
-
too many i's in your silaging ;)
what would you be doing prey tell
during my summer months break from uni i would work for an agri contractor and silaging would be the main job.
15hr days too!
and boy do i miss it! (open air, countryside, immature banter with fellow workers ;)
-
I thought there were (changed now).
I mainly ferry the trailers, but I also roll the pit on occasions and sometimes stack it too.
I've done several 18 hour days in the past (usually when things break - including the weather).
I agree about the immature banter. It's nearly as bad as it is on here!
-
ah those were the days
the last day i worked there before moving to work in IT i didnt open the back high enough so when it tipped the silage leant against the back, and as i didnt know i thought the trailer was stuck so gave it some welly and thus bent the back...
-
Never done that.
Our trailers have canvass backs, and have to be released manually, so we don't have that problem. :D
-
ours were hydraulically operated as they were 14 ton-ers
on one occasion the silage was a bit damp and at full tilt the trailer lifted my tractor 6 ft off the ground
twitching was invented for that moment
