sorry im not very clued up what is a Wading plug hole and do i need to put something in it to stop water getting in

If you go in water that gets up there, especially muddy water then it'll damage the timing belt. So to go wading you need to fit a blanking plug and either remove it after wading or on a regular basis in case it is actually keeping oli in there that might contaminate the belt.
The one on the bellhousing is supposed to stop the clutch from getting drenched.
