A quick warning to all with garden trampolines.
A friend of ours bought their kids one of these for the summer to keep them amused in the garden, which it certainly does but if you let your kids on these watch them at all times, the daughter of said friend has managed to bounce off the trampoline and shattered her arm which requires now to be pinned and plated in several operations to be repaired.
My daughter also does trampolining with a club and they surround the equipment with large crash mats and spotters on all sides for good reason to prevent this sort of accident.
This was quite a nasty accident and could have been alot worse so mind how you go people and enjoy the summer in the garden not in casualty :D

Good call
My cousin's bought a larger trampoline for her kids (adult size - we're all looking forward to having a go :) ), but she's also paid out for a net that goes all round the trampoline up to a height of (I think) 6 or 8 feet above the unit itself. I think the net structure was more expensive than the trampoline!
We've all stumped up - Christmas and Birthday will be rather sparse for the little ones - at least until we all forget how much we've contributed
Mental note - must remember to get over there and have a go :D
Cheers

the net is a very good idea and will save lots of grief later, they are really good fun but kids are kids and will try to outbounce one another to see who can go higher.
what you dont learn is how to stay central and land properly which is where the problem occurs, unless you had some lessons first.

I excavated to the depth of the trampoline,( which was treated with hammerite)so the trampoline is at the same level as the lawn, result peace of mind.

A good idea to sink the trampolene, but as you can jump more than a couple of metres high, you can still break things if you hit the ground! I think some crash mats are still a good plan.
