Defender / Defender 200tdi injection pump - tuning« Last post by durhamlandy on December 05, 2018, 07:45:01 »Hi.
I've been messing around with the injection pump and the like on my 200, after fitting a full size intercooler. I've read the various guides on the net, but still fail to get it right. I've adjusted the turbo wastegate, increasing the pressure. Adjusted the main fuel adjustment on the back of the pump, and tweaked / rotated the pin in the housing. I did lose the nylon washer when takign the pin / spring arrangement out and had to find a temporary replacement with a olive from a 15mm copper compression fitting whilst I find a proper one - which is proving rather difficult! Symptoms are black smoke on load, so its most likely the main fuel adjustment wants screwing back - but rather than me getting it 85% right, does any know an old fashion / non chip tune / non computer-ma-bob tuners that still exist in and around the County Durham region, that will make a decent job of it? whilst I'm on Im looking for someone that could make some custom exhaust hangers for a stainless side exit exhaust, to limit some of the vibration using the standard mount positions. Cheers Chris. 23

Is the plastic bit there to hold the rollers? 24

Having moved away for 10 years and then moving back to the area i grew up in there doesn't seem to be much going on locally except for the xtreme challenge truck group who have the occasional meets. I been to one or two but its a different bunch of people who are very clicky. Makes it difficult having fun when you go on your own. I really do miss this forum. Seems everything is on FB Groups now which people probably find easier.... but I'm not one of them. *Holds lighter up* 26
Discovery / Re: Diesel leak« Last post by NiteMare on August 11, 2018, 04:04:42 »i know this reply may be a little late but the fuel lines run thru a crossmember right by/above the tank ( a proper stupid design feature) and i have seen one fracture there which then p*ssed fuel out when the pump was fired up

Discovery / Diesel leak« Last post by Range Rover Ron on May 25, 2018, 10:27:18 »I've got a problem with a leak on my 2004 Td5 Disco.
There's a pool of fuel in the sunken section of the fuel take where the sender/pump fits. I've replaced the four fuel pipes and checked that they are sealed and snapped into the unions on the top of the pump. I've renewed the rubber seal on the pump/sender. I sat and watched for ages to see if there is a leak on the top of the pump but can see nothing, I've held brown paper all around the top of the pump to show if there is a fine spray coming out of a small unsighted split and found nothing. The only thing now is for me to take the tank out, which is obviously a big job for me to do on my own, on my drive. The one thing I think I will check is that the seal on the sender/pump is fitted correctly but apart form that I'm not sure where to go from here. Has anyone had a similar problem. The problem manifests by fuel leaking down both sides of the fuel tank, due to cornering, then the fuel drops down over the rear chassis legs, while parked overnight and leaves a "dinner plate" size mark on both sides of the Disco on the drive. Any pointers or suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers. 30
