Discovery / ACE dashboard light
« Last post by Range Rover Ron on May 14, 2017, 21:25:03 »
I've not long got a D2, 2002 vintage. I've had the amber ACE light on the dashboard come and go in the weeks since I've had it. now the amber light has turned to red. I've looked through the owners handbook and it says to take it to an expert and do not drive. Anyone understand what is going on? The Disco has had the air bags changed for springs by a previous owner. It's a greenlaner. Cheers.

Releases / Win 2 tickets to Knockhill - 7th May
« Last post by oilman on May 03, 2017, 13:47:42 »
Hi guys

Opie Oils have a pair of tickets to Knockhill Racing Circuit up for grabs, so if you and a guest fancy spending the day watching round two of the Scottish Championship Car Race as well as their brand new "May Mini Mania Show" then you may be in luck!

To be in with a chance of winning these tickets, all you have to do is drop us a PM titled Mini Mania. In the message, please include your full name, the name of your guest, your address, telephone number and email address - this will make sure that we can get in touch with you as quickly as possible after the winner has been selected.

Please only apply if you are able to attend on the 7th May, as it would be a shame for the tickets to go to waste

Should you be the lucky winner of these tickets, your guest and yourself will meet a member of the David Sleigh Race Team at the gates at 10:30AM on Sunday 7th May. They will then provide you with your passes and bring you accross to their race awning, skipping the waiting lines. Here, you can meet this awesome racing team, hang out for the day and have some lunch whilst watching a superb range of racing classes battle it out over 18 races. This year will also see the first ever Mini Show featuring Mini Car Clubs for the classics and the new models, perfect for admirers of this iconic vehicle. All in all, it's going to be a pretty action packed day!

You can find full details of the event HERE, and David Sleigh Racings page HERE. Please feel free to drop us a line too if you need any further information, we're in the office Monday to Friday 8:30 - 5:30 on 01209 202 944 or via email on sales@opieoils.co.uk.

As the event is for this weekend, get those messages in quick, the winner will be picked at random and contacted by Thursday 4th. Best of luck guys!

Cheers,

Oilman

Workshop Articles / Re: 300TDI Cambelt Change Step By Step With Pics
« Last post by Range Rover Blues on April 30, 2017, 21:18:10 »
As I'm doing yet another one, long story  I thought I'd check something.

Assuming anyone ever finds this, when you line up the cam belt pulley, there's a mark on the pulley and the casing right?  well once the belt is tensioned this doesn't line up.  It was the same last time I did one of these but I'd had the chance to mark it with paint before I started, sadly this time the belt broke .

As it looks to be half a tooth out, do I advance it or retard it?

It's not the site it once was - but I'm sitting now with a group of mud-club EE's at our monthly meet which is still ever month regular as clockwork

Sorry I didn't speak up earlier, I was in the pub with Timmy.

I think most on line forums have suffered, like most of my students it's all about instant contact via an array of social media.  There are still a significant number however who stay in touch and enjoy the sense of belonging, albeit to a very quiet club.  At the moment.

Releases / 15% off Millers Nanodrive NT+ Top 3!
« Last post by oilman on April 12, 2017, 13:51:19 »
Hi guys

So, we've had a lot of interest and a huge amount of positive feedback on Millers Oils new and improved Nanodrive NT+ range of motorsport oils since their launch. We've also noticed a fair few of you crying out for us to run an offer on them, and like the benevolent people that we are at Opies, we listened. We are pleased to announce that we will be offering 15% off the top 3 Millers Nanodrive CFS NT+ Oils!

This offer covers the 3 most popular viscosities in the range, just click on the one you're after to see all sizes and prices:

- Millers Oils NANODRIVE CFS 5w-40 NT+

- Millers Oils NANODRIVE CFS 10W-50 NT+

- Millers Oils NANODRIVE CFS 10w-60 NT+

All you need to do is enter the code: NANO15 at checkout to get 15% off. To clarify, this offer is for Millers top of the range CFS NT+ oils, not their standard CFS motorsport oils. This will be running for a limited time only, so make sure you get those orders in quick!

This discount cannot be used on trade orders.

Millers Oils range of NANODRIVE NT+ oils are getting some stellar reviews, and it's no surprise thanks to their new and improved ultra low friction additive package. Proven to reduce engine friction by a further 15% over and above their previous multi-award winning products, this sets them apart from the competition, providing increased levels of power and torque that are immediately noticable. Simply put, the NT+ range has been developed from the ground up to offer the highest levels of protection and improved efficiency for high performance engines.

With free shipping to Mainland UK on orders over £60, it's a great time to get serviced and prepped in time for summer, with track days and events of all sorts looming. If you need any other servicing parts, from filters, spark plugs and wiper blades, to gearbox oils and brake fluids, we've got you covered.

One last time, that code is NANO15 and is running for a limited time only. If there's anything else you need, just give us a call on 01209 202 944 or drop us an email to sales@opieoils.co.uk. We're out of the office Friday 14th April until Tuesday 18th due to the Easter bank holiday, but will be up and running as usual from 8:30 - 5:30, Monday to Friday from then on. I know what you mean Jas but if you remember it was originally taken down for supposed improvements but I think the guy that was running it got fed up with it and instead of handing it back to Thrasher, he wanted to kill it.

I admit that it was offline for so long that most of the membership fell away and went elsewhere, I personally come on the site at least twice a day but I don't own a 4x4 anymore so I cant contribute first hand.

We do still have monthly meetings locally and a few of the die-hards still show up and it would be good to organise more local meets around the country again.

I think that in general the off-roading scene has declined so much though and formerly eager people have done something else due to costs and family commitments.

Personally I don't want to see the demise of the club, I have had many hours of fun and met some really interesting people through it.
