Edgeware Road Bombing
« on: July 07, 2005, 17:32:26 »
I live next to Edgeware Road Tube station (circle entrance) which sadly saw the loss of 5 people.

Two of my patients were in the area and both heard the blast.  London has never been so quiet.  As everyone is walking everywhere its an eri sight to see.  No cars, justs sirens and air ambulances.

I live and work in central London and with the bus blast just mins away as also the Edgeware Road and Kings cross and I will not be fased by these barbarians in my city.

I cannot enter my flat, nor use my Discovery as they are both at the entrance to Edgeware Road and under police caution but I will continue my business as best as I can even if it means staying at work tonight.

We will not be beaten, nor will we be scared by these animals, but now my thoughts are with the peolple who just went to work, never to return.  Innocent as people can be yet torn away from their loved ones.

I just pray that this is an isolated strike and there are no more to come

All I would add is well done to those that helped the injured and be safe to those that are still looking for other bombs.
I agree with Red Ken - Ban 4x4s in London.

These things hit so many people, not only the casualties and their families, but like Landyman, the people who live in the area, who work in the area and who travel through the area every day. I am in no doubt that the whole of London is in shock today, as is the rest of the country, but knowing what we Brits are like It won't take long for things to start running smoothly again and get back to as near normal as possible under the circumstances.

Well said that man.

I felt proud today that in the face of such chaos and destruction, both the trained emergency services and the ordinary people on the streets showed such resolve and spirit.

There is nothing more frightening than fear itself.

There was a telephone interview with an American tourist on the BBC.  She commented on how everybody remained so calm, and knew exactly what to do.  This wasn't the emergency services (who are doing a sterling job), she was referring to the ordinary folk.

That sums up true British grit.

Could not agree more.  11.15 here and the coppers, tube workers etc are all working hard to get London back on track.

No one is phased by this, we will continue our normal lives!

Landie man

be safe be careful mate.

as what has been said by everybody in the club the true spirit of this great country ours shines through.

I've heard many stories today with friends in the ambulance service being put on standby and by colluegues at work within the telecommunications industry who have been involved and St John Red cross and all the emergency services.

Sad that innocent people have been killed and injured and again my thoughts and condolences are with the families and loved ones who won't be home tonight
