I mentioned in another post that my handbrake had mysteriously stoppped working the other day, no warning, funny noises, clonks or anything, it was there one minute and gone the next.
After having a quick look underneath and not noticing anything amiss I looked under the handbrake gaiter inside the car and could see straightaway the cable was not attached to the lever  The clevis pin holding the two together had come out and was sitting on the transmission tunnel. The clip that should hold it in place was nowhere to be found so I can only assume the dodgy man who sold me the disco had not fitted it when the handbrake was done.... :?
Nice to have an easy five minute fix for a change, I bet changing the front axle this weekend takes a bit longer
