Tim,

Nope. I was going to put in another 2.5 N/A and then I can afford a new gearbox/transfer box and fix up the steering.

Simon,

No :D

Then there would less money for me!   Although she does have rather alot. She was working a nurse in Rotterdam at the end of the war when she stopped and gave a Dutch woman a lift in her taxi as it was raining and the woman was walking along the street. They ended up staying in contact and a few years later the woman was able to recover what was hers that had been taken by the Nazis. She owned Rotterdam Docks and was one of Holland's richest people. She left over £1 billion when she died and my aunt got a large 7 figure part of it.

My aunt is now 98 and there a quite a few churchs, hospital and charities (and us) who are a lot better off for her sharing her taxi.

Guy,

She sounds like a fantastic lady.  I bet she never dreamed that by doing somebody a favour that she would have been repaid in such a fashion !!

It just goes to show, doesn't it . . . . .

So hopefully the lady I changed a flat tyre for last week will turn out to be the wife of a Land Rover (or TVR) main dealer who will remember my kindness in years to come. :D

Seriously though Guy, your great aunt sounds as though she could have been a good samaritan in her time.

I'll never soak a pedestrian again.

With those experiences I bet your great aunt (great aunt in more ways than one) has a few stories to be told.
