Hi folks
Am I right in assuming that to adjust the wheel bearings when you've got free-wheeling hubs fitted, you take off the whole fwh (same as Frontera)?
And whats the feeling on the one-shot swivel grease? Does it keep the upper areas sufficiently lubed?

Yes, the FWH replaces the drive flange, so it needs to come off.
You should used oil in the swivel on a Series... the grease is for the coilers / Stage 1 (CV jointed)
<runs and hides from the great oil vs. grease debate ;-)>

Not entirely sure about the bearing adjustment but I would that yes, the whole FWH has to come off.
I've been using grease in my swivels for two years now and can't say that I've noticed any problems. I think if you have FWH fitted though you need to lock them every now and again to make sure that the grease is heated up and thrown around and onto the Railco bush at the top of the housing.
My bearings had to be adjusted at the last mot and the garage said that the swivel was a bit dry and recommended that I revert back to oil but I think that's got more to do with the fact that I haven't locked my FWHs for ages (got two different ratio diffs fitted at present) rather than because I'm using grease (if that makes sense).

Okay............
I thought that I just needed to undo the ring of bolts to remove the fwhs - but they don't come off. Presume I've got to remove the screws as well?
Has anyone got the pdf file of the manual for AVM FW hubs? Saw it on a site ages ago, but didn't download it - now I want it (needless to say!) I can't find it!
