secondly I personally like Garmin stuff.

Do I have to keep mine hidden when we come up then?  :D

What does Lyn want to use it for?
If it's for hill walking when she will have a map with her then something like the Garmin Geco would do as these will give you your position, height, direction of travel, programmed waypoints etc. They come in at about £74 new.
 
If she wants something with mapping then these start with the  Garmin Xtrax Legend and start at £137.

Best bet is to have a look around GPS Warehouse's site for all the info on what is available and what it can do.  :wink:

Never been walking in the Cuillin Hills on Skye then?
Eight Munro's, the highest of which is 3234 feet above sea level and it's handy to know where you are in that lot!!  :wink:
