Swivel seals

Sure, the oil patches underneath a Landy are a familiar and strangely comforting sign, but I've got a new one, and it seems to be coming from one of the swivels.

So, I figure it's time to replace the seal.  But looking on Paddocks / Craddocks, there's so many to choose from.  Can anyone give me some advice on which ones I need to buy?  I'm guessing it's the one described as 'Swivel housing seal', but it mentions an 8mm and a 12.5mm seal.

It's a 1992, 200TDi, non-ABS if that helps at all.

sorry i cant help  i need to do my swivel seals but i was the same as you i looked on the net and didnt know what to get so many choices so i hope somebody can help on here.  joe

The first thing to do, if you're running EP90 in them, is to use One Shot Grease instead.  Many people's swivels will pour EP90 like a collander, but One Shot will do them fine for years to come.

I filled my 200Tdi Disco swivels with EP90 by mistake once, and it came out almost as quick as I could pour it in :)  But One Shot saw them good.

There are 2, you're right but one is early RR and the other late RR, so chances are the Disco is late RR.  What I advise is you ring Rimmer bros and ask for a free catalogue to help you get the right one, you don't need to buy from them although if you do they will help you get the right part, plus if they say it's in the post, it's in the post!
