Hi Richard

Try this - it's a bit dusty in the side shot. If you want a decent quality photo I'll have to email it to you.

Yes please Phil

Many will no doubt disapprove of any mods at all to a 50th but, apart from the side exit exhaust, everything has really been done to protect the vehicle from mishaps when doing gentle offroading

If you've been reading back along this thread, you'll know that there was only a 1000 built.
I never really did anything to mine, as it suited what I did with it as standard (with decent tyres)

Do you know about James Binges site?

Bouncing this thread a bit more up to date.

I spotted a previously unseen 5-door FreeLander at work this morning.

It had a note in it stating it belonged to a contractor working on a ward reburbishment, have to keep an eye out for it again.

Hmm??

It's a bit like the expression about buses, not being visible, then arriving all together.

There was the FreeLander spotted on Saturday morning, now I've seen a (new to me) Discovery 50th this morning.

I'd done the school-run & was coming home at 08:50 & noticed one in a local supermarket car-park

H1 WRT (I think?)

Sorry, camera not to hand at the moment, but I do have photographs of it to add to the '50th Anniversary' albums on my 'www'

I keep hoping to 'bump into' my old one, but not yet.

So if anyone sees S296 JVN, please let me know!!

I still have mine BTM, although she did cost me dearly when the head went whilst towing the new Swift Challenger home from Bude.

Aha, I've just spotted your problem Garry, you tried to tow it home backwards - no wonder the head went, you should always hang the caravan on the back of the car.    :)

5-door FreeLander A11 ATF(?) this morning on the M62 between junctions 31 & 32 (heading  east)

Also, a 3-door last week in the centre of Wakefield. I forget the registration

I was in Wakefield this morning doing the school-run, on Fridays 'small-child' has to be dropped off at the other branch (the main school, rather than her 'satellite site')

Whilst queuing down Leeds Road from Newton Bar to enter the City Centre, a Range Rover P38 came in the opposing direction in a familiar colour.

I think it's only the second one that I've seen!, having said that, they are rare with only a 100 being built for the UK market (overseas got their own editions, the US got theirs in Woodcote Green

I'll keep an eye out for it, just in case it's a resident of the area, & not just passing through

I believe I saw another one on Saturday morning circa 11:30 - 11:45

It was heading 'south' (towards the A1) along the A168, that's the A1 - Thirsk -Middlesborugh road

By the look of it, it had a suspension lift, snokel & a light-bar above the windscreen

Sorry no further details, as we were on the  opposing carriageway

I've also seen S560 BYG on several occasions recently.
Haven't seen it for ages, then it 'comes out from the woodwork'

I was on the M62 yesterday heading east.
On the opposing carriageway, between junctions 31 & 30, there was a 5-door 50th FreeLander
Traffic was fairly light, so I could see the registration, it was the one pictured below

Also;
The 50th mentioned in the post above, 'S560 BYG', was spotted again on Sunday, whilst I was out on the bike
