I'm rebuilding the 90 at the mo. Modded for serious off road. I'm thinking of buying a caravan but don't want a low slung tobar to compomise its off-road ability. Anyone know of a solution or any ideas :?  :?:

to fit a tow bar takes about 20 mins and about the same to take it back off.....

just fit it when you take the caravan on holiday.....

Unless you've got one like mine, when i took it off the bolts snapped inside the crossmember :twisted:

Before mine was nicked  :cry: it had a reverse mounted Dixon Bate.

Basically, mount the slider to the cross member, and bolt the hitch directly to the "ladder" part of the kit. Then just remove when you don't need it.

There's some photos on one of the albums at http://community.webshots.com/user/kentzer. Try the "Defender Accessories" album.

I mounted the hitch on a second slider, but wasn't happy with the movement in the assembly when towing anything of any weight. I was going to eliminate the second slider, but didn't get a chance.

I was also going to replace the tie bars using a quick release onto the chassis mounts, but again - didn't get the chance.

I'd go with the de-mountable ones.  Avaiable from Devon / Scorpion / Southdown etc etc.

The best way forward, takes minutes to take off and put back on.

Juts dont forget to put some decent additional recovery points on the truck as a 90 stuck in the mud with no tow bar is a serious problem if you have no other recovery points!  :wink:
