question for the polishing Gurus

decided to give hers a good polish on saturday and do all the black stuff as well
My questions, and dont flame me for this :lol: , how often do you polish the roof? and whats the best stuff for doing the black bits? she had some back to black stuff which was ok on some bits but not brill on others.

I had father in laws buffing machine he uses on his car but to be quite honest it was easier by hand and achieved better results IMO, does any one else use these to do theirs ?

The best thing for the black bits is "Autoglym Bumper Care"

My dad is madly into his Aston Martins (alright for some!!!) and he used the McGuire range of stuff.

They do stuff like autoglym but he finds it better.

Ive used the Autoglym on bumbers etc and I think its great.  Their glass cleaner is amazing!!!!!

I too have just found the pleasure of using their glass cleaner and yes it is amazing ! :lol:

have you tried mer polish is fantastic stuff i used to use it when i was a army staff driver on our 2.8 black ford granada use to pass inspection every time my car was for a 4 star GENERAL it was shinney and i remember it use to be very easy to aply use with a damp cloth to spread it then buff off with a dry soft cloth couple layers will do for the winter months   its spelt  MER sold in a blue  square bottle in most shops but is very underrated hope this helps regards colin

Roof? I've rarely seen the roof of my Surf let alone polished it! Nor am I likely to now it's been raised even more- I'm 6'2" and it towers over me. I guess I could open the sunroof stand on the seats inside and work it that way!!!

Autoglym Polish is what I use to polish- the mud just slides of most of the time. Autoglym Polish is great on the windows too.

And the removal van wasn't shiney enough so Andy had to spend a few hours polishing it before they could move his stuff :)

McGuires for the polish and Autoglym's glass cleaner although their other stuff also fdoes a good job. Just McGuires is the bees for getting a shine.

I must give mine a good clean and polish some time.
Andy refused to park next to me when i went up to pick some stuff up from him.
He couldn't undertand how I got so much mud inside the vehicle. Even on the dashboard.

No. he's back, or he was last week.

I'm wondering if his access time is being restricted by Jayne??

I suppose he'll come back once he's catalogued all his cleaning materials in their own room & his Steps & Queen CD's

Not one for polishing a lot myself, but I use mer, too, also their glass polisher is good, called rain away I think, just makes the rain into beads and blow off, not so much smearing and marking while driving
