Anybody know how much damage will be done to winch solenoids if the get the occasional bath?
I've got mine mounted with the battery under the passenger seat. It is fairly obvious from the tide mark that water is getting into the seat box (it's built like a sieve), I'm not overly bothered by the battery, as the water will have to get to about 8 inches to get to the terminals, however it will only need to be an inch or 2, to effect the solenoids. However as most people mount the solenoids under the bonnet or on the front of the vehicle it can't be hat serious can it??
On the driver side the box does seem to be sealed alot better, all the ecu and fuses are mounted on platforms in there, so it'll need a good few inches of water to get to them, and it hasn't had nearly as much water in, judging by the tide mark.
