Yes, be wary of the cheap ones, in my experience they will fail quicker.
Don't buy second hand ones... that's just asking for trouble.

Shop around...

paddockspares.com
land-rover-parts-shop.com

or your local 4x4 supplier... they should all be able to give you a price

Paddocks were doing them for £25 each last time I looked

Dont forget though you may need new seals and lock washers bearings etc, normally I would be prepared to re vamp the whole assemby unless you have already done some maintenance on them already

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

I don't want to appear to be running down Paddocks, but I personally wouldn't use the ones they sell for 25 quid..  I did...  once.

Are the swivel seals (the big ones which 'wipe' the ball) OK ?

They are a cheap part and if weeping worth doing at the same time.  You don't *have* to do any of the seals if they are OK... but it is worth getting the inner and outer hub seals just in case, they are only a few quid and good to have as spares.  It's also worth getting a new drive flange gasket, and a new hub nut lock-washer.

You never can tell.  Just be careful of buying parts at sodbury though... you might not have much comeback if there is a problem and you don't get all the seller's details.

This might be useful if you've not done one before :
