after fitting a set of parabolic springs to my 109 it now sits as if it has had a 4 inch lift is this normal ?

Maybee the old spring was so used that they sat down 4 inch. Think yourself lucky some people pay alot of money for a 4inch lift. The main question is. Does it ride better ?

i carnt tell you wether it rides better as i havent been in it since i put them on it just looks so much bigger looks good tho especialy with the 235/85/r16 mud tyres i bought at lre 2005 :lol:

I went for the Chris Perfect paras and es3000s - total transformation.

I got about a 2" lift at the back, and about 4" at the front - the old front springs were so bad that the old girl was virtually sitting on the bumpstops.

p4203 hi i got the parabolics from paddocks carnt remember how much they were will have to dig out a bill . hope this is of help to you :lol:

I got the same but used ES9000, very good and got a lift at the same time

Mine's on the ES4000's (I think). They seem to work well enough :)

It's also got extended shackles, so it gets a slight lift from them - it sat at about the same height as my standard height defender. That (apparently) equates to about a 2 inch lift on a standard Series 3.

Dunno what it was like before they were fitted - it's always had them!

Heres a pic with Rocky Mountain para's and Procomp ES9000's - dont know what its like yet though as it aint finished. A bog standard trolley jack was used to see what articulation they give - still had some travel left aswell

My landy before i put parabolic's on.
Was only about an inch between the wheel and the arch.

And this is after i put the paras on plus pro comp shock's, it's given me a good 5" lift between the wheel and arch :D

My question is why would you want to lift your landy it only makes it unstable. Is it for off road ability or just for looks. I am only asking because I have a mate who is obsested with lifting his Landy. I told him if he gets it to 45 deg now it be ok but if he lifts it then trys he will find it on its side. He just say don't be silly....
If you want the lift BUY THE TYRES that are larger and that is good advice as it gets your diffs higher off the ground and gives you more clearance for those sharp hills....

i have a mate who is exactly the same,has a decent tricked rangie but cant drive a nail into a bit would,he has 235/70/16 tyres,2 inch lift,bash plates etc & my other mate with a v8 disco on 205 diamonds outclasses it no probs,although now the disco is lifted 2 inchs he can get my 750's on no probs when i borrow the diamonds,ive lifted my 90 by about 2 1/2 inchs on rangie springs but it performs so much better offroad,the racer is lifted 3 1/2 but on soft springs so i fget the most travel out the systen for the speed events,could do with an extra 1/2 inch to give me more than 8 inchs of travel

they are from paddocks
thats not at full stretch, it drove up onto that ramp really easy
i did try putting it on ramps at opposite corners but i couldt get more that 3/4 the up and it would stay up on them :shock:

When I fitted para's to my S3 WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

What a difference!!!!!!!

I love them, very big difference and I found that with the gas shocks it was more stable, not less as the wheels could move easier

If you ahve a series and are debating fitting the, stop. Go and buy some and make sure you get the uprated shocks or its like driving a bouncy castle.

Trust me ln that last point, I know. I tried it :shock: :shock: :shock:

yeah, mine is running on the standard dampers at the moment
lots of pitching back and forth, not really a nice ride. smooth, but too jerky.
as soon as i can afford it i'm getting some procomp es3000s
