HI Rob,
Can you not remove the air filter and the mounts and replace them a little closer to the pipe?
I ended up replacing the mounts as they'd come apart.

Yeh, tried that.
It stretched the turbo pipe a bit much for my liking, not to mention the fact that the airfilter housing snout is smaller than the internal diameter of the snorkel and no matter how much I tighten the Jubilee clip, it won't even nip onto it. So I need some tube to fit to the outside diameter of the snout that will also fit to the internal diameter of the snorkel. So I'm off shopping !

Not a good customer service experience.

I vote against having a dealer/mechanic/vendor winge.

It is far too easy for a company to get underserved bad publicity from a winge fest - the 300 happy customers may not post.

There is also the legal issue. Do the organisers of mud-club want to be receiving letters from the solicitors of dealer X for hosting said winge fest?

Nor do you want to be receiving the letters for posting your opinion, as I hear has happened to someone on another forum.

Hi Rob,
What about a later air filter.
I believe it's the same but the air filter has the lid of the filter built on to it.
On the earlier one the lid comes apart and then you put the filter in.
Hope that makes sense.

I am picking an axle up from a guy breaking a 200tdi 1994 and could get the air filter housing if you want.
And post it to you.

Unless you've already done the job.

Hi all

 :idea: the air box is made of steel so if you cut a strip of steel about 2" wide or as wide as it needs to be to close the gap and wrap it around the snout put a jubilee clip around it to clamp it tight then weld it to the air box then remove the jubilee clip and weld the overlap of the strip grind this weld flat so the end of the snorkle will seal then you have the bonus of increasing the diameter of the snout and closing the gap

Thanks for the very kind offer, I've just bought a brand new filter for it and have managed to do a temporary fix using a piece of rubber hosing which will put me on for now.
