Roof rack advice
« on: October 25, 2005, 15:01:42 »
Hi all :(bigsmoke):
I'm now in need of a roof rack for my 110. I have to admit too, that I'm a bit of a snob in this area, and the roof rack really should compliment the Defender, not look like a chicken run attached to the roof :(stoopid):
I like the look of the G4 ones, who doesn't :?: but they are a bit on the expensive side.
Any suggestions/advice please?

Cheers
Ollie

we've had the same dilema and nearly bought a genuine type one, but compaired to the safety devices one?! no contest.
they all seem to be costly if you want nice. what you want the rack for/to carry? the current hanibal are superb, lighter and detatchable sides but cost.
ARB racks quite tidy heard mixed things about noise levels though (steel construct)
Front runner (alu) quite tidy and cheeper (paddocks do at good price) but we didn't like the shorter more stubby look sides, ingenious sliding bolt system though
Patriots i dont know a lot about but british and quite solid looking.
have you seen the range from bearmach? have a G4 stylie one from memory.
heard different things about material choice also if going off roading with rack on. to do with vibrations etc, not really sure myself
