Discovery light bar width?
« on: October 26, 2005, 14:56:57 »
I am trying to get a light bar to adapt to my Frontera and as I will probably end up with a discovery in the future I thought it best to get one of these.  Can anyone tell me the width of the bar (or the top of the discovery at the front where they are fitted) and also can anyone recomend a bar.

Thanks.

Barry

Thanks.

I could get one made for the Frontera but if I get a Discovery one and just get an adaptor made then I can use it when I finally change car.

You won't need an adaptor - just drill two holes in the top of your bumper

The ones for the Disco fit to the gutter which is present around the sides of the car.  IIRC the Frontera doesn't have these, so where are you thinking of attaching it?

BTW, glad to see you are going to enter the Discovery Clan at some point . . .

I was going to get a local smith to make something that I can use to mount it to the Frontera.  Probably just mount it onto an adaptor which mounts onto the bodywork (don't mind bolting or welding as I will use the frontera till it dies).  Then when I upgrade I can just remove the mount.

I like Defenders and Disco's but think for everyday use and occasional off road, the disco would be best.
