Years ago, 1979 to be precise, there was a ITV documentary about the M62 in winter. simply called 'Motorway', it mainly accompanied Officers in RR's on patrol duty.
There was some superb footage of them towing a plethora of vehicles off the carriageway.



If you're in the Yorkshire area, it can be viewed free of charge (but by pre-booking??) at the National Museum of Photography, film & Television


I know Yorkshire Television once told me it was in their archives & available for sale as a copy on VHS, or possibly DVD

Yeah, saw it. Very impressive must have been quite a weight in that tanker. They were praising the marque up too which was nice.
Spacemud misses his Land Rovers :o(
