Looking for brake pipes

I'm wanting to replace all brake pipes on a 84 rr Classic 4 door

The part numbers i have found are:-

4 FRONT
NRC9024
NRC9025
NRC9022
NRC9023

RED VAL TO FLOOR
NRC6926



NRC4408
NRC4409
NRC4410
NRC4411
NTC2003
NTC4419  
NRC4420

ALSO, Does anyone have a diagram showing all the parts?
and does anyone know if NRC4412 should be included in the list?

Any clues where to get them from?

The first 5 i can get from land rover, the rest i cannot.
I don't fancy making them myself, just want to get them out of the bag and put them on

ill start from the top,


dont fit the landrover ones as they are steel pipes & will corrode like the ones currently fitted,get some copper ones made up & fitted,

also to fit the pipes as how landrover would supply them ie pre bent is alot more work than it sounds,also the pipes advertised in paddock or craddocks i think are pre made to length with ends in copper but not pre bent,

from my point of view if you dont have the confidence to make them are you sure you should be messing around with the brakes,sorry if that offends you

Paddocks do quite a selection, but not actually listing rrc, but do list a 200 tdi disco though :?

To buy the kit and do it yourself is not that big a thing, but making sure that all the unions crack off (including Bleed nipples) as they should, then you will know if you require any other bits, like calipers

By removing one pipe at a time a roll of tubing and a couple of bags of the correct threaded ends, for what it would cost a pipe flaring kit

Have a couple of practices, to get the flares right, and away you go, pretty straight forward, if you feel confident enough to replace the pipes actually making them should be within your capabilities

I'll check paddock and craddocks,  i do have a flaring kit and have made up brake pipes in the past, just fancied the easy option of pulling one out of a bag and popping it on.

All caliper's have been stripped, refurbished with new seals and new nipples fitted.

I take the point of the steel v copper brake pipe, any clues why it was ever made in steel?

Paddocks were £109+VAT+Del

i think i will free up some time and make them

That's a huge price!!!. Do you need all the pipes re-newing?
Have you not got an independant motor shop/small back-street garage close to you that will make them up for you?
If not, measure the lengths you need for each pipe, sent me a PM with them & I will get you a price from my local bloke, I am sure they would be much cheaper.  If they are I can get them made up & will send them down to you if you like, got pleanty of time in the Winter as too wet & wild up here to work outside on the motor.
They are made of Copper, easy to shape.  Will also need which ends you need for each pipe, ie:- male/female.--Cheers--Cogs

I agree silly money,

I've got the copper tubing now, and the fittings from a local supplier (less than £40, already have the flaring tool so should have it all done this weekend.

There are only a couple of pipes which 'may' need doing, but with the whole project i have replaced with new anything which could become suspect (dangerous statement)

Damn thing needed one sill patching where the dreaded rust set in so she ended up with new inner & outer sills all round.(along with arches front & back)

she'll end up being mint and me skint

Glad the brake pipes are sorted, I got my Starter Motor overhauled at a local Auto-Electricions last year & it cost about £ 20 inc.the dreaded VAT.  Been fine since.
At least the starter motor is easy to get off.  On some motors you have to be a contortionist to get at them.  Good luck, sounds like it's going to be classy when you are finished.
I got mine off "E" bay for £900 & after a lot of hard work it's looking good now.  Got a "third best RRC" at the North-East All Rover Rally so the hard work is paying off.--Cogs

Just proves my point, for the sake of a few turns, you can save quite a bit, I  presume the motor is off the road anyway. A handy little thing also would be a pipe cutter for the tubing, makes life a lot easier

yes got a pipe cutter too.

the rangie's in the garage at the moment, got the brake pipes to finish, a winch bumper to fit, then winch and snorkle then she's ready for more toys.

just think 8 months ago i got so fed up after cutting out a sill i was going to scrap the thing, but in the end got my finger out and am now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Someone's taking the p***, I paid £75 for a full set of Automec from Craddocks and they wouold have been cheaper if I'd order3ed online (which anoyed me).  My way of thinking, you might as well do the lot in one go then you don't have to worry.

BTW, steel pipes are cheaper than copper, but it's also the issue of 'degined obsolescence', manufactureres don't want things to last forever.

Starter motor, they're only £50 odd quid new, though I do have a spare.
