No I've not moved it, and I haven't moved the throttle potentiometer either :D
The question is, where would I move them to the only sensible place I could put it, would be the above the roof lining, which means near enough stripping it out :(
If you had the cable you would be able to move it to wherever you wanted.
Door seals was my first response, but since then I've watched a few DVDs and learnt, you don't want Door Seals for Wading. If you watch a Toyata go wading, it will float, which if there is a side current means it goes over, if there isn't it means no traction. Accept that your going to get your feet wet, and go for it, you've got a snorkel!! :D
Just an Idea mate you dont want the bill for a new ecu and engine. I dont have that problem. I can take the battery off mine and bump start it. Runs without. There is something to say for the old landys still.
Well what ya think of mine that was my first real attempt at water. http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/Miniman/gallery/Whitworth13thNovember2005/5/e05a90c5be6007d6a0f7b0ca5522900e.JPG/Hope it was ok for the first attempt. I need to make some more modifications be for I realy go for it....Waders would be the first thing and some new door seals. It comes in very quick.

No I've not moved it, and I haven't moved the throttle potentiometer either :D The question is, where would I move them to, When ever I've checked under the seat boxes, the tide mark on the ECU one is only an inch or so, and the ECU is mounted right at the top. Even after a prolonged wading session. In anything with a bulkhead\mesh divide it's easy stick at the top of that, but the only sensible place I could put it, would be the above the roof lining, which means near enough stripping it out :( So the other option is to waterproof the seat box, which is fine, but I'm not sure how the water is getting in. I've silconed the obvious holes, but it still gets in, and if your not careful all you do is trap the water in.
Last time I was up there Drum, brand new TD5 90 drowned completely due to ECU in the lake and was last seen waiting for the breakdown truck to arrive wondering how he was going to get it on Warranty......was going to go for Warranty on the basis that the ECU under the seat seats below the wading depth in the handbook so it wasn't his fault......Having said that, your wading depth of 8 foot may affect that in some way
Remind me why did I buy a TD5??
