Stainless steel nuts and bolts

Is there any problem with using stainless steel nuts and bolts when replacing bolts on an engine?

Shouldn't think so just make sure they are of the correct tensile strength as the ones you are replacing, hows it going?

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

Not too bad Kev, but I'm still waiting for the head gaskets, bolts etc to arrive.  I forgot to tell Paddocks when I needed them so they sent them by snail mail and they will probably arrive on Monday now.  By the time I rang them, the parts had already left their place so there was little they could do about it.  At least it's given me a chance to flush the intercooler, and it was a really good job too, there was half a litre of engine oil in there after the turbo died   .  Everything is flushed now and ready to put back on when the bits arrive.

The reason I ask about the stainless bolts is that a few studs and nuts were worn (particularly on the exhaust manifold) when I took it all apart and I work in a lab that has quite a stock of stainless steel bits that I can 'borrow' from. 8)
