when my climate control is used on hot on short journeys when parking
and leaving the freebie smoke is occasionlly spotted from the control
exaust at near side front as it cools is this normal??????? or should I
paniccccccccc

That sounds like it might be the fuel-burning heater.  A few of the Freelanders had them as an option I seem to remember.

Yeah I saw that LR did Eberspacher type heaters as an option, these are similar to night heaters used in trucks, and can be used on a thermostat and left on all night. They run off the fuel from the vehicle, so when they ignite they cause some smoke while they warm up. Hope that helps?
