Land Rover badge - which font?
« on: November 20, 2005, 22:10:46 »
Any ideas what font LR use for their green oval logo?  I'd like to make a friend up an alternative badge.

Thanks.

Funny you should ask of all people...

It's for my mate Roger, who is rebuilding his 110.  I was going to make up a logo saying "Land Roger" but otherwise identical to the normal logo, then see if I could get it printed onto vinyl or something for him to stick on his truck when it's done.  Not sure if this is possible, but I was going to cross that bridge when I came to it.

Unless of course you've done one already!

As with most of the LR stuff, it is a modified version of a standard font.

Depends how accurately you want it to mirror the real thing really.

Good point, if you make (obviously!) do the whole thing in the same font, it would probably look genuine as long as you are not holding up another original one next to it.

But do you want it identical? Possibly a little difference to attract the eye to it might be an advantage, rather than have people not noticing your efforts because they just assume it's a normal badge.

Hi Tim, i would like to get some stickers made  of the Land/rover logo  but instead of a (V) in the word ROVER replace with the letter(R) to make the word ROGER,  ie--LAND/ROGER.  I would like them to be in the same size  (approx) as on right rear of the 90 about-7x4  in old  money, not looking for exact copy  - but green/gold  in colour  would be nice, if its worth your trouble to do this would you PM me with price for 6 -i will give a couple to the other guy that wanted 1 , Hope this is the right place to approach you on this Sorry if not , Regards Land/Roger.

Best Bet is to contact Mrs_muddy as she appears on the forum and to detail your requirements with her, since Tm has little to nothing to do with graphics anymore.

Note, you also want to replace it with the letter "G" not "R" unless you want to be Land/Rorer :)
