i know the detroit lockers sometimes bang whilst resetting

is this the same for the front truetrac or is this the sign of impending doom??

The detroit can bang when it unlocks, (going into corners, etc)

A Trutrac shouldn't... should be quiet all the time.  Check the diff pinion, etc. to make sure it isn't jumping teeth or something nasty due to a collapsed bearing.
