Ok i listened to the anti on radio 2
and had a thought
isnt it about time responsable adults should be insuring bicycles and those mobility scooters
if you are in an accident with another car both drivers (should be) are insured
if you are in an accident with a bike or mobility scooter
any damage to your vehical may have to be covered by your own insurance, resulting in loss of no claims
bikes and mobility scooters seem to drive/ride on and off the road and pavement with absolutely no warning
come on lets start a campain to force them to carry real insurance minimum 3rd party
Never underestimate the power of a sick mind !!!!
What would scooby doo!!!!
remember if you camp next to the toilets you get to meet everybody at least once over the weekend

I think they should, and not just adults!

They are not likely to cause any serious injuries (or less likely anyway) and so the cost would be negligible.

I used to do archery, and we went out into woodland to shoot at targets - my bow was powerful enough to punch a big hole in a wall, a human wouldn't stand a chance - yet my insurance was £4 per year, for something like £2M cover.

Certain liabilities may well be covered on household insurance policies.

My boat's not covered while off the drive (household policy) or not being towed (car insurance)- cost's me £60 per year for £3M of cover. Not sure how you can do £3m worth of damage with a 17ft dingy though?

Horses
i was delivering one of my diggers on a small narrow lane
was going very slow as there was not enough room for two motors two pass with out one stopping
What do i see when turn corner   a BLOODY GREAT 16 HAND HORSE
i stoped to let the lady pass

Then all of a sudden the horse started to flip out so i turned the engine off hoping it would calme down
it was all over the place hit the motor (no damage) and all sorts could of been a lot worse

Who would of paid insurance if i wanted to claim ?

I think horse riders can get insurance.  I am sure my mum has it for hers, but it should be mandatory.

You certainly can. My wife has third party liability insurance for when she's horse riding.

my sister has insurance on her horse aswell. but i definatly agree with cyclists and them leccy scooters having to have insurance. the front door to my house opens straigh on to the pavement. i have lost count the amount of times i have stepped out of my front door to almost be mowed down by a push bike flying along the pavement.  and its not only kids either.....
cheers
