Try these 2 websites they are - in my opinion - very useful  I was requested to forward this, I would not do this unless I considered that it was of genuine interest. Mike

Subject: Save up to 19p a litre on your petrol

Hi Mike,

A new web site that I think you will like.

It's at www.petrolprices.com and you can use it to monitor your local petrol prices on the web or via email alerts. It's already saved me about 50 quid in the first month of testing so it should save you hundreds of pounds a year if you have a car.

We found the price difference between the cheapest and most expensive stations for unleaded today to be as much as 19p a litre!

As it is a new site I wanted to let you know about it first and ask for your help to spread the news about it. Could you forward this email to any of your friends who you think might like it? I'd be really grateful.

Do let me know what you think of it and if you have any ideas how we could improve either site.

All the best,

Brendan

Ok, good idea but...

Why is it site's like this and Mud-club's too, do not use a secure server for entering personal details ?  OK I agree nothing to drastic in both cases but I for one do not feel that comfortable giving out my 'identity' online.

Just a comment  :)

Mud-Club at present doesn't ask for anything *too* personal, and what information you give can actually be discovered easily enough by looking in the right place.

However, we will likely be asking for some more details perhaps in the future (some of our plans may require it) in this case we may well move over to HTTPS.  That having been said, the certificates cost a fortune :(

Thanks Darren. As I said it's not too much of issue with MC I know, we can all play detective

There are however loads of sites out there that do actually take very specific info over non secure hosts. These bother me

Great site. I paid 44.9p/l for LPG this morning which worked out £35 for 77.95 litres. Now I've found somewhere which I almost drive past every morning that sells it at 37.9p/l - 7p/l cheaper!
That means that I would have only paid £29.54 saving £5.46 on one tank. at 5 tanks a month that's over £300/yr in fuel savings alone! What's more it brings the cost per mile on 200 miles/tank down to just under 15p from 17.5p giving me the equivalent of around 36 miles per tank for free. Enough to p**s around off road this weekend in Weardale!

(Guess who is a) bored and b) has a calculator!!

Cheers!
