Needed V8 engine chassis mounts
« on: November 30, 2005, 13:11:10 »
I need V8 engine chassis mounts. I am having a chassis galvanized but it is a 2.5td chassis. So I need the mounts to weld on before it is galvanized. And the ones on my old chassis are still being used.
Dose anyone make new mounts?
Or have an old V8 chassis laying around that they do not need the V8 mounts and would cut them off.

I called QT and got a set for 15.00+vat and shipping.

Dose anyone know the best way to locate where they need to be welded? I know the best way is to offer the engine and trans up to the chassis but whey are still in the 110 and I am not taking them out till I do the chassis swap.

Can you not measure from the rear of the front crossmember to the front of the engine mounts on your 110 that has the V8 in it now and, as a safety check, do the same from the front of the gearbox crossmember to the rear of the engine mount.

Then position the new engine mounts to those measurements.
I assume you're using the same engine & gearbox.
