Hi all,

I want to buy a reasonably priced steering guard for the "Beast" for it's Xmas pressy. Although it needs to be cheap it also needs to be effective and look ok.

If you have purchased such a guard please could you tell me the details of the price and where it came from and a piccy of it on your machine would be most welcome.

Southdown make a nice looking guard.
I paid Ã‚Â£65 for a Discovery one at Sodbury Sortout.

Mine is a Rebel4x4 one, it was cheap and theres loadsa piccys on their site.

Got the Rebel aluminium one and it has been superb
Bit pricier but has hardly even marked!

Will a classic Range Rover one fit, as i have a all but new Rebel one on my Strange Rover, Remove it, (putting all bolts back as should be of coarse).
Will swap for classic front spoiler????

But, isn't the nearside front tyre on the wrong way round?

It is a Southdown one, but I drilled the holes in it 'cos I got fed up with it collecting dirt every time I went backwards.

The new toy that Eeyore and I have just bought has a Matt Lee guard that appears to have been well used. No idea how much one would cost.

I bought one of the 8mm ally ones from Rebel. It's taken a few serious knocks and has barely deformed at all. Not the cheapest from them, but it is well made and fitted very easily.

Here's mine. Another Ebay purchase. Ã‚Â£20. Just had to straighten it a bit. But works perfect as you can see. Doesnt trap the Crud either with the holes in it.

It is a 8mm thick piece of ally, with steel brackets.

This is of course a disco but LRS do one for a defender too.

i got the rebel steel welded one for Ã‚Â£39.90 + delivery
gonna fit it to the racer & knock hell out of it lol

You will still need diff guards to go with the steering guard.

Mines a Rebel one but on a Series 3.

Cost about Ã‚Â£40 IIRC two years ago and has taken quite a bashing but seems to have withstood the abuse well.
